Ukwuani PDP Inaugurates Ward Caretaker Committees, Urges Members to Strengthen Grassroots Mobilisation

Party members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ukwuani Local Government Area gathered at Obiaruku during the inauguration of the party’s 10 ward caretaker committees by the LGA Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Dr. Christian Eze Edike, on March 7.

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has inaugurated caretaker committees for the ten wards in the council as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and deepen grassroots mobilisation ahead of future political engagements.

The inauguration ceremony, which held on Friday at Obiaruku, the headquarters of Ukwuani Local Government Area, was presided over by the Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee in the council, Hon. Dr. Christian Eze Edike, who formally presented the ward caretaker executives to party members and stakeholders.

The event attracted party faithful from across the ten wards of the local government area, including leaders, supporters and grassroots mobilisers, who gathered in large numbers to witness the formal constitution of the ward leadership structures.

During the ceremony, the life Board of Trustees (BOT) leader of the PDP from Ndokwa nation, Rt. Hon. Dame Esther Uduehi, sent a goodwill message to party members through the PDP Ukwuani Local Government General Coordinator, Hon. Ugbome Trust.

In her message, Dame Uduehi commended members of the party in Ukwuani for their continued loyalty and unwavering support for the PDP, noting that their consistent belief in the party had helped sustain its strength in the area.

She particularly appreciated the large turnout of party faithful at the inauguration ceremony, describing it as a clear demonstration of the people’s commitment to the growth and unity of the PDP in Ukwuani and across the Ndokwa nation.

The PDP chieftain assured members of her continued support and guidance, both at the national and state levels, promising to remain accessible and to provide necessary direction that would further strengthen the party’s activities in the area.

Dame Uduehi also stressed the importance of the ongoing electronic registration of party members, in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regulations, urging members to take the exercise seriously in order to build a credible and updated membership database for the party.

She explained that the e-registration initiative would enhance transparency and help reposition the PDP for greater participation in future elections, while encouraging ward leaders to mobilise members to take advantage of the registration process.

In response, the caretaker committee chairman of the party in Ukwuani, Hon. Dr. Christian Eze Edike, reiterated the commitment of the local government leadership to strengthening the party’s structures at the ward level.

Edike disclosed that the e-registration portal had already been made available, enabling members in the various wards to commence the registration of party faithful as part of efforts to comply with the new electoral guidelines.

At the ceremony, the newly appointed ward chairmen and their executive members were formally presented with oath forms which they read before party members and stakeholders, pledging to serve the party
