Ukwuani Gathers For Uzoka Esume At 70, As Community Elites Celebrate Legacy Of Service

UMUTU/Nigeria: Umutu, in  Ukwuani Local Government Area, came alive on April 19, 2026, as prominent sons and daughters of the area converged to honour Chief Uzoka Esume Phil (KSPI) on his 70th birthday, in a ceremony that reflected both his influence and enduring relevance within the Igili Kingdom.

The well-attended celebration drew a cross-section of political leaders, traditional figures and business stakeholders, underscoring the celebrant’s standing across Ukwuani and beyond, as tributes centred on his contributions to community development and leadership.

Among dignitaries present were former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor; Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Council, Hon. Barr. Ajede Possible; and Commissioner representing Ukwuani at DESOPADEC, Surveyor Azuka Enebeli.

Others in attendance included Chief Nwajiogoli Christopher, Engr. Ogum Ogochukwu Stanley, Mr. Anuku Godspower, Comrade Odagwe Chioma and Comrade Ken Ugo Okpue, alongside palace chiefs from Umutu and Ebedei, as well as business leaders from Amai and neighbouring communities.

Speakers at the event described Chief Esume as a respected figure whose life journey has been marked by service, resilience and commitment to community growth, noting that his 70th milestone offered an opportunity to reflect on a life of impact.
