ASABA/Nigeria: The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope Federal Constituency has reaffirmed its commitment to unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation as the foundation for electoral victory in the 2027 general elections, following a high-powered strategic meeting of the Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum in Asaba.

The expanded meeting, held at the residence of the Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, elected representatives and political appointees from Ethiope East and Ethiope West Local Government Areas in a renewed effort to strengthen political cohesion and consolidate support within the constituency.

A major highlight of the gathering was the first formal participation of the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, since the forum was established three years ago. Her attendance was widely hailed by stakeholders as a significant milestone in the ongoing reconciliation and unity process within the APC family.

Party leaders noted that the meeting reflected the growing political harmony among key stakeholders in Delta State, following reconciliation efforts involving former Governor Chief James Ibori and other political leaders, as well as sustained engagements credited to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Participants observed that the renewed spirit of cooperation has strengthened political stabity and enhanced collaboration among stakeholders across the state.

Discussions at the meeting focused on strategies to deepen internal cohesion, intensify grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 polls.

Speakers at the forum highlighted the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly ongoing economic reforms, fiscal restructuring initiatives and infrastructure development programmes aimed at positioning Nigeria for long-term growth and stability.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was also commended for what participants described as his calm, inclusive and development-driven leadership style, which they said has fostered peace, political stability and improved governance delivery across Delta State.

In his opening remarks, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, National Chairman of the Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum and Chief Adviser to the Governor, described the gathering as a clear demonstration of unity, purpose and political direction.

“What we are building here is not just political alignment, but a united front capable of delivering victory. Unity remains our strongest strategy going into 2027,” Amori stated.

Also speaking, the APC leader in Ethiope East, Chief Bernard Edewor, described the meeting as a defining moment for the party, noting that the impressive turnout reflected growing confidence in the APC structure across the constituency.

“This is a stronger and more coordinated APC family. With this level of unity, we are firmly on course for electoral success,” Edewor said.

The National Secretary of the Forum and Delta State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, stressed the importance of grassroots engagement, urging party leaders to translate the renewed unity into effective mobilisation at ward and polling unit levels.

“Our real strength lies at the grassroots. Every unit must be active, every ward must be mobilised, and every leader must carry this message of unity to the people,” he said.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, called for sustained reconciliation and political discipline, maintaining that the current unity drive must be strengthened to secure long-term stability and electoral advantage.

In her remarks, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu expressed appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for embracing a renewed spirit of cooperation and political maturity within the constituency.

She commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his role in promoting reconciliation and political harmony, noting that inclusive leadership remains essential for sustained progress and stability.

The federal lawmaker also reaffirmed her commitment to working with all stakeholders to strengthen the party’s structure and ensure victory for APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Other leaders who spoke at the meeting echoed the need for sustained unity, coordinated mobilisation and disciplined political engagement across all levels of the party structure.

The meeting ended on a strong note of consensus, with stakeholders reaffirming their collective resolve to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, Hon. Vincent Awosu and other APC candidates as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.
