ASABA/Nigeria: The Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), on Tuesday celebrated his 60th birthday, drawing tributes from across Delta State, with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori commending the monarch’s enduring contributions to peace, community development and the traditional institution.

The governor described the revered royal father, who serves as First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, as one of the state’s respected traditional rulers whose leadership has continued to inspire stability and progress within Akugbene-Mein Kingdom and beyond.

In a goodwill message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori praised the monarch’s 28-year reign, noting that it has been defined by purposeful leadership, wise counsel and a steadfast commitment to the welfare and advancement of his people.

According to the governor, the monarch has earned widespread respect for his role in strengthening the traditional institution in Delta State through constructive engagement on issues affecting the state and sustained advocacy for peace and development.

Oborevwori also acknowledged Pere Luke-Kalanama VIII’s steady rise within the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, where he previously served as Second Vice Chairman before assuming his current position as First Vice Chairman.

He further applauded the monarch’s investment in human capital development, particularly through educational scholarship initiatives that have provided opportunities for young people from Akugbene-Mein Kingdom to pursue their academic aspirations.

The governor said the royal father’s commitment to education demonstrates his belief that empowering young people through learning remains one of the most effective ways of building stronger communities and securing lasting development.

Congratulating the monarch on his diamond jubilee, Oborevwori described his 28 years on the throne as a period of selfless service, exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to the growth of his kingdom and the preservation of the traditional institution in Delta State.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the royal father, wishing him good health, greater wisdom, renewed strength and many more years of fruitful service to Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, Delta State and the nation.
