WARRI/Nigeria: Warri Wolves Football Club chairman, Neville Ambakaderem, has urged the Seasiders to maintain focus and give their best as they prepare for their next Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture against Rivers United.

Ambakaderem made the call while encouraging the team to approach the encounter with discipline, commitment and determination to secure points in the 2026/2027 league campaign.

The chairman expressed confidence in the players’ ability to deliver a positive result and acknowledged the support of the Delta State Government and the Delta State Sports Commission.

He said the backing had contributed to the club’s participation in the top-flight league and its preparations for the new season.

Warri Wolves opened their campaign with a 2–1 defeat to Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, on August 30. Eventus Itolowo scored the Seasiders’ goal in the encounter.

Their subsequent fixture against Enugu Rangers was postponed, leaving the club with one completed league match at the time of the supplied report.

The Seasiders will also draw encouragement from their previous competitive meeting with Rivers United, when they secured a 2–0 victory over the Port Harcourt-based side in April. Igbunu Evwierhurhoma and Othuke Egbo scored for Warri Wolves in that encounter.

The Rivers United fixture is expected to provide Warri Wolves with an opportunity to begin building momentum in the new campaign, ahead of their scheduled home meeting with Kwara United on September 20.

The club’s immediate priority, however, remains translating the chairman’s call for commitment into a positive league result.
