Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone

ASABA/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has called for closer cooperation between the Federal Government and Delta State, saying stronger collaboration could accelerate development, attract investment and expand opportunities for residents.

Dafinone made the call in his Independence Day message on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as Nigeria celebrated its 66th year as an independent nation.

He said the anniversary provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on their collective responsibility to preserve national unity and contribute to the building of a peaceful and prosperous country.

The senator acknowledged the economic difficulties confronting many Nigerians, noting that the ongoing reforms had imposed significant sacrifices on citizens.

He, however, expressed optimism that the measures being implemented by the Federal Government would contribute to greater economic stability and create conditions for improved opportunities.

Dafinone urged Nigerians to remain resilient and hopeful as the country passes through the current period of economic adjustment.

He also appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support the policies of his administration, saying the government needed time and cooperation to consolidate its reform efforts.

The senator extended the appeal to Delta Central and the wider Delta State, urging residents to continue supporting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

He said effective cooperation between the state and Federal Government would be particularly important in advancing development initiatives, attracting fresh investments and creating opportunities for the people.

Dafinone said the interests of the people should remain at the centre of such cooperation, regardless of political or administrative boundaries.

He also called for continued unity among Nigerians, maintaining that the country’s diversity should not prevent citizens from working towards common national objectives.

The Delta Central lawmaker drew encouragement from the biblical assurance that difficult seasons eventually give way to better times, urging Nigerians not to lose hope because of present economic challenges.

He expressed confidence that sustained perseverance and unity could help create a country where peace prevails and citizens have the opportunity to pursue their aspirations.

Dafinone congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, the people of Delta Central and Nigerians across the country on the Independence Anniversary.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful celebration and prayed for the continued progress of Delta Central, Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
