UYO/Nigeria: Female stakeholders from all walks of life in Akwa Ibom State are rallying support for President Bola Tinubu and the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
Marking the June 12 Democracy Day on Thursday, the stakeholders under the banner of Akwa Ibom Women Progressives Forum in a statement congratulated both President Tinubu and Gov. Eno for achievements recorded in their administrations in the last two years.
In the statement signed by its coordinator, Lady Nsikak Akpan, the Forum commended the two leaders for providing leadership and for infrastructural development projects in the country and in Akwa Ibom State.
The women said both Tinubu and Gov. Eno have done creditably well and that they deserve a second term in their respective offices.
The Forum said “Nigeria is celebrating democracy today because we have a true democratic leader in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who in a short period of two years has touched many facets of governance, easing the burden of Nigerians through social incentive programmed meant to take many household out of poverty.
“President Tinubu’s government through it’s numerous programmed and policies have promote human capital development. His government has been able to ease the hardship created by fuel subsidy removal, refurbished our moribund refineries, stabilize the naira and improve electricity supply”.
The Forum said the people of Akwa Ibom should rejoice that Gov. Eno defected yo the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) .
“The movement of our state governor to the APC is not personal. Give. Umo Eno was constrained to do what he did for the benefit of the generality of every Akwa Ibomite.
“By aligning Akwa Ibom to the government at the centre, faster development through infrastructural
projects will reach out people.
“By being in APC, Gov. Eno will have more power to influence more projects to Akwa Ibom State from the centre to complement the good works that the Governor has been doing.
“So as a female group with large influence on the politics of Akwa Ibom State, we are supporting Gov. Umo Eno for a second term in office.
” We are at the same time endorsing the second term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“With the continuation of these two great politicians in office, life will be more better for us all in Akwa Ibom State”.
