ASABA/Nigeria: The Maris Trust Council (MTC) has announced that Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, will be one of the discussants at the upcoming Maris Annual Public Service Lecture.
Aniagwu, who served as the spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 general elections, will join three other distinguished personalities to discuss the theme, Local Governance and Sustainable Development.
A statement issued in Asaba by the Secretary of MTC, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, emphasized that Aniagwu’s selection was based on his dual expertise as a seasoned communication strategist and a key player in infrastructure development at the grassroots level.
The keynote address at the annual lecture, which has become an agenda-setting platform for addressing societal challenges, will be delivered by renowned technocrat and private sector leader, Sir Patrick Ejidoh. Ejidoh, a former Managing Director of Champion Breweries and President-General of Onicha-Olona Development Union, is expected to provide practical insights into governance and development at the local level.
The 2025 edition of the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, beginning at 12 noon.
Egugbo expressed the Council’s appreciation to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for fostering an environment conducive to intellectual discourse. He also extended gratitude to regular participants and sponsors, encouraging public engagement in proffering solutions to developmental challenges.
