OKPANAM/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has been described as a stabilising force for the existing peace, unity and socioeconomic growth and development in Okpanam community.
The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Waterways and Land Security/Councillorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Obodogwugwu-Okpanam ward 9, Hon. Ezuche Barry Okonkwo stated this in Okpanam during the 80th birthday celebration of Mrs. Caroline Abumujor.
While pledging to create opportunities for the people to embrace education at all times and ensure proper demarcation of the boundary between Asaba and Okpanam, the councillorship hopeful said that he would create a laison office in Okpanam where indigenes of the community could access their local government of origin identification letter with ease to avoid unnecessary stress they usually undergo to Akwukwu-Igbo for it.
Hon. Ezuche Okonkwo, who said that the birthday celebrant had continued to touch lives in the society with her humanitarian gesture, described Mrs. Caroline Abumujor as a humble woman.
In his remarks, one of the children of the celebrant, Comrade Chukwudi Abumujor, who spoke on behalf of other children said that their mother and his late father, Ognueshi John Abumujor, contributed greatly in giving them good foundation, adding that it was necessary to celebrate her while she was alive.
Comrade Chukwudi Abumujor, stated that 80 years on earth and still counting was not a mean feat but attributed his mother’s longevity of life to God’s benevolence just as he lauded well-wishers for identifying with them.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the celebration, the visibly elated celebrant, Mrs. Beatrice Igbeka, said that their joy knew no bounds, adding that the initiative by the children to celebrate her was quite commendable, even as Mr. Raph Nzemeke described her as a virtuous woman.
