COVID-19: Juan Governor Commends people of Ndokwa East …Appeals for Continuous Observance of Health Guidelines

ABOH/Nigeria: The Residents of Ndokwa East Local Government, had received the commendation of the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Juan Governor for been part of the success so far recorded in the fight against the spread of the Novel Coronavirus disease, which had brought the world to its kneels since January 2020.

The Chairman who also appealed to the people to continue to observe all the necessary health guidelines, stated this in a Press Release on Friday, May 7, 2020.

He stated that the set target of the committee on Covid-19 in the is to ensure that the people always stay safe, by ensuring that they are always conscious of their environment as they go about their social economic activities.

“We want to use this opportunity to solicit our collaboration and collective understanding, cooperation and commitment in ensuring that our communities are safe from the deadly Covid-19 throughout this trying period by emphasizing, encouraging and implementing the “You See, You Act” program as earlier communicated in our recent press release.”

Hon Juan reminded the people of earlier communicated policy in handling the spread of the virus in the, which was “You See, You Act”, which was targeted to amongst others, “Awareness: Pay attention. Stay alert to the possible risk exposure in your environment so that you can take steps to correct or guard against them.”

“Focus: Concentrate on whatever you are doing and be conscious of everyone around you.”

“Strength: Have the strength to do the right thing even when it’s easier not to. Adhere to all the recommended precautionary measures completely, every time and while encouraging all around you to do same at all time. Be a Covid-19 risk prevention ambassador in your environment.”

“Patience: Take the time to do things correctly every time – like always washing your hands regularly, using sanitizer where available, us of face mask in the public, and above all maintain and encourage all around you to observe social distancing at all time. There are no shortcuts to staying safe and staying at home.”

“Responsibility: Take responsibility for the safety of everyone in your immediate environment to benefit yourself and others to ensure that everyone is safe from Covid-19 at all time.”

“Thought: Stop to think before you act. Getting infected with Covid-19 is not always the result of bad luck. They occur when someone decides – consciously or not – to take a chance. Be smart and avoid taking unnecessary risks.”

It went further to state the timely report on violation of any of the recommended precautionary measures, any new person in the environment, especially recent inbound travel visitors.

“Any person with suspected case of Covid-19, gathering that violates the social distancing if they fail to heed caution, any death and burial taking place within the area, Criminal trait from anyone in the environment who violates the ongoing curfew.

It also called for any report any time there doubt of any situation with potential to enhance the spread of Covid-19 through the provided telephone numbers, and the officials who are of the Contact Team in the area.
