DTSG Sues for Peace in Host Communities, As Ebedei Set to Host Power Gas Plant

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: Host Communities in Delta State have been told to always ensure that they maintain Peace with investors operating in their domain.

The commissioner for lands Surveys and Urban Development Hon Chika Ossai gave the advice when he led a delegation of officials of ministry of lands to visit the people of Umueziogoli, and Adonishaka in Ebedei Ukwuani local government to harmonize over the land acquired from the two communities by Power Gas Global Investment.

Hon Chika Ossai, who took time to educate the people on the process and procedure of land acquisition, said the meeting became necessary so as to ensure proper understanding between the company and the Host communities.

The commissioner who pointed out the benefits of having investors in their communities said the project Will not only bring development but will also provide employment for the teeming youths.

He said the state government will commence payment of compensation by next week to the communities of their economic crops as enumerated by the valuers.


The Commissioner disclosed that Twenty hectares of lands acquired from the two communities by state government has been handled over to power gas global investment.

He urged members of the communities to maintain cordial relationship with investors in their communities.

While appealing to the communities to threads softly with the investors Hon Chika Ossai added that the Welfare of the host communities is of much Paramount importance to the State Government.
