SAPELE/Nigeria: The immediate past Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area and the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming local government election in Delta State, Hon Chief Eugene Inoaghan, has commended the Delta State Governor, his Excellency, Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, for the massive infrastructural development going on in Sapele local government area of the state.
The PDP candidate described Governor Okowa as an honest public administrator who has fulfilled his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Sapele local government area.
Chief Inoaghan, who was speaking at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, platform/one on one with local government chairmanship candidates in Delta State also stated that if given the opportunity to rule again, he will tackle security, unemployment, agriculture, commerce and industry, and sanitation as the mainstream of his policy thrust.
Why speaking on security, Hon Inoaghan, explained that to tackle the current challenges of cultism and other crimes in Sapele local government area, the area has been divided into fifteen zone from the conventional four with each zone coordinated by vigilante security personnel who reports directly to the area Divisional Police Officer, DPO, and other relevant security agencies for effective security operations in the area.
Hon Inoaghan, promised that he will develop agriculture, improve on commerce and industry, maintain environmental sanitation to effectively tackle the problem of unemployment and poor environmental sanitation in the area.
The amiable PDP candidate who said with the lean Council resources at his disposal in his first tenure, he was able to fix 35 roads in his first year in office, 37 roads in the second year and another 37 in its third year couple with the development of the legislative house; giving of scholarship to indigents students, proper management of Sapele main market, for effective market men and women economy revitalization; maintenance of peace and security as well as partnership with the Delta State government on the stronger Delta agenda of the Okowa’s administration.
He remarked that in his second tenure, he will work very hard to build on the sustainable achievement of his first tenure, thanking the PDP leadership, particularly in Sapele local government area for giving him the ticket to run on the platform of the party
He also thank the people of Sapele local government for voting for him in his first tenure and appealed to them to vote him again.
