Juan Governor Hails Okowa as DTSG Mull Security Outfit

ABOH/Nigeria: The announcement by the Delta State Government on plan to float a security outfit which will see the coming together of the Nigeria Police, and the Vigilante groups to play a vital role in curbing the rate of criminal activities in the state had been applauded as a good move by the state to help bring sanity to the lives of the people.
Reacting to the announcement, the Chairmen of Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Hon Juan Governor, in supporting the move, said that it is one policy that will assure Deltans that their lives are secure, as they go about their social and economic activities.
The Chairman who was reacting to enquiry from Ndokwa Reporters, to the announcement by the state government said that any Deltan who loves the state should key into it and support the government on any legal means that lives and properties will be protected.
“I am in agreement with the decision of the state government to establish this outfit, to be known as “Operation Delta Hawk”, it’s a welcome development, and a policy that need the supports of all in the state”
Hon Juan pointed out that the state had witnessed high rate of security incidents that had resulted in loss of lives and properties, and he expects that bringing in the local vigilantes to play a vital role through the law of the state Assembly will make the relation of the group and the police to be cordial. Pointing out that the beauty of it is that the outfit will be controlled by the state.
“This outfit to be known as “Operation Delta Hawk”, from my understanding will be an act of the parliament, and will be signed into law for the good of our people. The beauty of it is that it will be controlled by the state government, which will bring the Nigerian Police and the vigilantes under one control to fight crime in the state. It’s a beautiful one. And I am in total agreement with the idea, and I expect Deltans to support the move.”
Speaking further he lamented how lives and properties had been lost in many parts of the state because of activities of criminal elements operating in the state, saying that the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, in his wisdom deemed it fit to mull the idea to fight the various form of crimes which had been witnessed in the state.
“We can recall that of recent, incidents of kidnapping, and mostly herders-farmers clashes had resulted in the death of many persons in the state, and tension had also built up in many others. For this, the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa need our commendations and supports to fight the menace.” He said.
