Delta Commissioner Urges Civil Servants to Be More Productive

ASABA/Nigeria: The need for civil servants to redouble their commitment and be more productive in their services towards the realisation of the stronger Delta vision of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa Administration has been stressed.

Delta State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Chief (Barr) Arthur Akpowowo, who stated this in Asaba during the reception ceremony of a newly sworn in Permanent Secretary in the state, Engr. Blessing Edewor, said that the governor would continue to reward hard work among the state workforce.

He described Engr. Edewor as a man of integrity, humble and dependable, adding that civil servants in the state would always benefit immensely from the state government’s friendly dispositions.

Earlier, the Director of Water Supply in the State Ministry of Water Resources Development, Engr. Emmanuel Odogu, the General Manager of Urban Water Corporation, Engr. Nosa Okoh and his counterpart in charge of the Small Town Water, Engr. Tony Unuafe said that they were happy to see one of their own appointed as Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.

Engr. Emmanuel Odogu , who pledged his support to the new Permanent Secretary by ensuring that he continued to contribute meaningfully towards the growth of water resources as well as the success of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

Speaking to newsmen, Engr. Blessing Edewor, commended Governor Okowa for finding him worthy of the recognition, adding that the recognition called for more service delivery, just as his wife, Mrs. Patient Edewor said that her joy knew no bounds and appreciated Senator Okowa for rewarding her husband with the appointment.

Meanwhile, the Director of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education,  Comrade Ernest Ossai has described  one of the  newly sworn in Permanent Secretary , Mr. Bernard Okonta , has been described as a consummate manager , saying that their appointment was right step in the right direction.

In her remarks, the visibly elated Okonta , who thanked all and sundry for identifying with him , described the Governor as workers friendly and visionary leader, even as he enjoined younger generation of civil servants to always reciprocate government initiative for their welfare enhancement through effective service delivery.
