OLEH/Nigeria: The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has scored the People Democratic Party, PDP governors high, saying from available records, the only group of governors commissioning projects are PDP governors.
Governor Emmanuel stated this at Ohrerhe-Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, during the inauguration of the Ohrerhe Road/Bridge project executed by the Delta State Government.
The governor commended his Delta counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his commitment to the development of the state despite the meagre resources coupled with the inflation that the nation was going through at the moment.
“Once you see a governor trying to sign his signature in a community, it means he really likes that community.
“So many areas are crying for development with the little resources we have and the rate of inflammation that we are also going through.
“I really want to thank the governor for signing his signature in this community,” Governor Emmanuel stated.
He condemned those who always look at the revenue accruing to the state but without considering the high cost of executing projects in the Niger Delta region due to the difficult terrain.
Governor Emmanuel acknowledged that the south south states were PDP states and would remain PDP, just as he added that all the development going on in the country were only in place states governed by PDP.
The governor who joined his voice to that of the people of Agbarho community in demanding for more projects, explained that the real dividend of democracy was the projects that were put on ground for the use of the common man.
He charged the people of Agbarho identify with the PDP during elections while lamenting the little or lack of federal government presence in the south south region
Earlier, one of the sons of the community, Chief Michael Akpobasa, who spoke to our correspondent described Governor Okowa as the ‘Road Master of our time’.
While saying that the road had brought development to Ohrerhe Community, Akpobasa disclosed that the Ohrerhe Road had suffered under previous administration and commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the construction of the road.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the formal inauguration of the road for use.
