EFFURUN/Nigeria: Leaders and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday held a high-level strategic meeting at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, where they pledged unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The meeting, which drew senior government officials, party executives, influential leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, focused on strengthening unity, discipline, and internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections. Discussions centred on reinforcing organisational structures, deepening collaboration across party ranks, and preparing for what many described as a defining political contest.
Moving the motion for a collective pledge of loyalty to the President and the Governor—a motion seconded by Chief Andrew Oru, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, commended President Tinubu for what he described as significant advances in national security and economic stabilisation. He noted that “Nigeria is beginning to record improved security across various regions,” attributing the development to the President’s renewed vigour in tackling insecurity.
Keyamo also praised Governor Oborevwori for what he termed unmatched infrastructural development across Delta State, urging APC members to remain steadfast as the party’s congresses approach. He warned aspirants against hoping for “Abuja-made tickets,” stressing that only aspirants with genuine grassroots acceptance would receive the party’s backing.
State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, reflected on the political realignment in Delta State, describing the ongoing shift from PDP to APC as historic. He emphasised deepened grassroots engagement and the involvement of respected elders as central to the party’s strategy, assuring members of a landslide victory in 2027 if unity is sustained.
Chairman of Delta Central APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, cautioned members against indiscipline, factionalism, and divided loyalties. He described Delta Central as the “engine room” of the APC in the state and declared unequivocally that “Delta State APC has only one leader, and that leader is His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.”
He outlined new reforms including mandatory monthly senatorial meetings across the eight LGAs and the creation of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee to drive planning, conflict resolution, mobilisation, and performance monitoring.
“Our mission is too important and the stakes too high for indiscipline or division,” Akpeki said. “Delta Central APC must operate as one family with one structure, one leadership, one direction, and one objective: victory is sure in 2027.”
In their separate remarks, Senator Ede Dafinone; Hon. Ejiro Waive, Member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency; Executive Director of NEXIM Bank, Stella Okotete; Chief Solomon Igrakpata; and Chief Andrew Oru, all stressed the urgent need for unity and internal harmony.
Local Government APC chairmen in attendance also pledged unwavering commitment to delivering maximum votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in 2027.
As the meeting drew to a close, leaders reaffirmed their resolve to reposition Delta Central APC as a disciplined, united, and formidable force capable of securing sweeping electoral victories in the next general election.
