Delta CJ Charges Lawyers On Improved Justice Administration

AGBOR/Nigeria: The Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Theresa Diai has called on legal practitioners to continue to seek better ways of improving the administration of justice in the country.

Justice Diai made the call while declaring open Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Agbor Branch 2022 Law Week and Launching/Fund Raising for the Agbor Bar Centre with the theme: ‘Restructuring Nigeria: The Dilemma and Critical Issues’.

The chief judge noted that the theme was a contemporary issue fit for discussion in the light of the development in the country.

“I am sure also there are other issues too which call for your attention which will be deliberated upon by your members period.

“This includes ways of improving the administration of justice,” she stated.

Speaking further, she congratulated the Agbor branch for coming of age in the area of infrastructural development.

“As I have been made aware, slated as part of this law week, is the foundation laying ceremony of the law centre of this branch.

“I am very happy to associate with you and I will personally perform the foundation laying. I hope to be invited in the shortest possible time for the opening ceremony,” she remarked.

Earlier, the NBA Chairman, Agbor Branch, Mr Benjamin Isetin, noted that the branch covered Agbor, Owa-Oyibu, Obiaruku, Umunede and Ute-Ogbeje jurisdiction.

According to him, the theme of the week was meant to clamour for restructuring of the country.

While saying that the judges in area were hardworking, he appealed to the chief judge to consider posting a judge to the High Court at Obiaruku.

The high light of the event was the foundation laying ceremony for the Agbor Bar Centre by the Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Diai.
