ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government in collaboration with Ukpahansa Solar Energy Solutions has rolled out the State Solar Power Ownership Scheme for Civil Servants as part of the State Government commitment in providing alternative power supply for civil servants.
The Head of Service of the State, Mr. Reginald Bayoko who was the Special Guest of Honour at the official rollout of the scheme, today in Asaba said the scheme will afford public servants in the State the opportunity to enjoy uninterrupted Solar Power in their homes at affordable prices.
Mr Bayoko said that the irregular electricity supply juxtaposing with the current hike in electricity tariff, makes solar energy as a veritable alternative source of power supply adding that at “this point in time we should grab this opportunity to conveniently regulate how to use power supply.”
He assured Civil Servants that his office had reached an agreement with Ukpahansa that civil Servants can pay on installment basis to reduce the burden of one-off payment.
While encouraging civil servants to key into the programme which he lauded as alternative initiative to irregular power supply, the Head of Service pointed out that one of the advantages of the scheme is that it is low cost and is part of the various welfare scheme through which the Government of Delta State is attending to its citizenry.
Bayoko also lauded the State Governor for his total commitment in improving the welfare of civil servants in the State through prompt payment of salaries, training and retraining, vehicle and housing loans amongst other laudable incentives yo boost the morale of the workforce.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ukpa Hansa Enery Solutions Limited, Chief Ewie Aimenwauu in his opening address thanked the government of Delta State for accepting to provide solar energy as alternative power supply for her people.
Similarly, Chief Ewie commended the State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, assured civil servants that they will certainly enjoy the benefits and shall testify at end of the day.
