ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed profound grief over the demise of Chief Patrick Okitiakpe, a revered figure within the party, who passed away at the age of 86.
The State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, issued a heartfelt statement conveying the party’s condolences, stating, “It is with a deep sense of sorrow and loss that we received the sad news of the passing of Chief Patrick Okitiakpe, at the age of 86.”
Described as a founding member and an unwavering stalwart of the party, Chief Okitiakpe played a pivotal role in holding the PDP family together in Delta Central, particularly in the Ughelli South axis. Dr. Osuoza highlighted his contributions, stating, “with his fatherly love, wisdom, and accommodation, [he] ensured that the interest of our party was always placed before other contending considerations.”
Chief Okitiakpe was not only a respected elder statesman but also an illustrious Deltan, a political colossus, and a former governorship contestant.
