ASABA/Nigeria: In an official statement, the Delta State Government has urged eligible and qualified Deltans to seize the opportunity to apply for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and the Nigerian Navy’s Special Enlistment Exercise.
The call specifically pertains to the 76th Regular Course at NDA and the Direct Short Service Commission Course 29 for the Navy.
According to Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau and Executive Assistant on Communication to the Governor, interested candidates are advised to visit the NDA application portal at www.ndaapplications.net. There, they can register by selecting “PURCHASE ACCESS CODE,” fill in their details, and pay a fee of N3,500.
This payment will secure an ORDER ID and REMITA RETRIEVAL REFERENCE (RRR) Code.
The government emphasizes that applicants must also participate in the 2024 Joint Admissions And Matriculation Examination (JAMB) and choose NDA as their first choice of institution.
A minimum score of 210 points for Engineering and 180 points for Arts, Social Science, and Science courses in JAMB UTME is required for further consideration.
The screening test for eligible candidates is scheduled for Saturday, 25th May, 2024, with Delta State candidates directed to the Army Day Secondary School, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State.
Successful candidates admitted into the NDA for the 76th Regular Course will undergo a five-year program encompassing both military and academic training, culminating in the award of an honors degree (B.Sc, B.Eng, B.A) and a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.Additionally, Oghenesivbe disclosed that the online registration for the Nigerian Navy’s Special Enlistment Exercise for Direct Short Service Commission Course 29 is open until Wednesday, 7th February, 2024. The process is free, and applicants are warned against giving money to individuals.
Interested candidates can register online at www.joinnigeriannavy.com within the specified period.
Concerned about the declining number of applicants from Delta State for various armed forces, the government has tasked the Delta State Orientation Bureau with undertaking extensive sensitization campaigns through various strategies and mass media to encourage more citizens to consider careers in the Armed Forces and the Police.
Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori expressed his worry over the diminishing number of Delta applicants for NDA admission and enlistments into the Armed Forces and the Police.
He urged qualified Deltans, especially the youth, to view these opportunities as avenues for significant employment and professional career development.
The governor emphasized, “Joining the Armed Forces and the Police is strongly recommended by the State government, as it directly reflects the job and wealth creation objectives of this administration, as encapsulated in the MORE agenda.
” Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online at the NDA application portal before the deadline on Tuesday, 30th April, 2024, and for the Nigerian Navy Special Enlistment Exercise before Wednesday, 7th February, 2024.
