Delta State Executive Assistant Hails State’s Safety for Investment Amid False Insecurity Claims ….Reassures Public, Praises Governor Oborevwori’s strategic measures

ASABA/Nigeria: Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe, the Executive Assistant on Communication and Orientation to Delta State Governor, emphasized the safety of the state for investments. He credited the proactive measures taken by the government and security agencies for maintaining perpetual safety.

The Executive Assistant stated this in a recent interview on News Central Television and Crown FM Radio.

Addressing concerns over alleged insecurity raised by the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oghenesivbe commended the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wale Abass, and the police force for effective policing. He urged the public to disregard the false insecurity alarm while assuring that Governor Rt. Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori had implemented result-oriented strategies for peace and security in the state.

Responding to the N50 billion alleged misappropriation by the APC regarding the N78 billion mega flyovers and road expansion contract awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Oghenesivbe clarified that the accusations were baseless. He debunked claims of contract padding, asserting Governor Oborevwori’s prudent resource management.

“Delta APC’s tendency to fabricate fake news and spread misinformation as weapons of opposition politics is evident,” Oghenesivbe stated, highlighting that the contract wasn’t padded and that the governor ensured responsible allocation of state resources.

Moreover, he emphasized Julius Berger Nigeria Plc’s reputable standing in the construction industry, dismissing claims of over-inflated contracts by stating the company’s history of responsible conduct.

Challenging the APC State Publicity Secretary to substantiate the allegations with verifiable evidence, Oghenesivbe highlighted the significance of the ongoing infrastructure projects initiated by Governor Oborevwori. He reiterated the projects’ importance in fostering job creation, economic growth, and resolving traffic congestion issues, aligning with the Governor’s MORE agenda.

Reflecting on the Governor’s choice of Julius Berger for the projects, Oghenesivbe praised the Governor’s vision, noting this as the first instance the construction giant has deployed high-tech equipment for road construction in Delta State’s history. This move, according to Oghenesivbe, underlines the administration’s commitment to robust infrastructure development.

The assurance of safety for investment and the clarification regarding alleged misappropriation serve to reinforce the state government’s commitment to progress and development in Delta State.
