Delta State Receives The Highest Share In The N173.8 Billion Federal Allocation To The States

ABUJA/Nigeria: Reports from the month of September allocation to the states shows that Delta state received the highest with N14.2 Billion naira. This was followed by Akwa-Ibom with a total of 12.9 Billion Naira, Rivers with a total of 12.458Billion Naira, Bayelsa with a total of 10.887Billion Naira and Lagos with a total of 8.772Billion Naira. This is arguably the first time that Delta State is the highest recipient of the monthly Federal allocations this year.

The Breakdown was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a report from the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in Abuja. The funds are usually shared the following month (i.e) revenue generated in January is shared in February, therefore this is revenue generated in August and shared in September.

The Key agencies that remits funds into the federation account are the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the Nigerian Customs service.
