LAGOS/Nigeria: Business aviation firm Flybird Aircraft Management Services Ltd. has reaffirmed its commitment to global collaboration as Nigeria prepares to host its first-ever Nigeria International Airshow (NIA) in Abuja.

The company’s Managing Director, Capt. Ahmed Borodo, announced the support in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos, describing the event—scheduled for December 2 to 4—as a major milestone for Nigeria’s aviation sector and a fitting commemoration of 100 years of aviation in the country.

Borodo said Flybird AMSL, one of the key sponsors of the airshow, has renewed its commitment to driving innovation, operational excellence and strategic partnerships within the nation’s aviation industry. He noted that the firm’s participation underscores its role as a forward-thinking aviation brand dedicated to improving safety, efficiency and sustainable growth in the business aviation space.

“By supporting Nigeria’s first-ever international airshow, we are aligning with a bold vision to position Nigeria as a central hub for world-class aviation services in Africa,” Borodo said. “This event is a game-changer for our industry, offering a platform for global collaboration, investment and innovation.”

He recalled comments by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who described the maiden airshow as a catalyst for bridging connectivity gaps across the continent. Keyamo had noted that the event would deepen synergy between financial institutions and the aviation sector, strengthen sustainable economic growth and boost efforts toward environmental targets.

He added that the airshow is expected to accelerate the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by fostering a more integrated African aviation industry.

The Nigeria International Airshow will bring together top global aviation players, regulators, service providers and innovators for exhibitions, live demonstrations and strategic engagements aimed at shaping the future of aviation in Africa.
