INEC Server: APC Petitions PDP to police, DSS Over Hacking …PDP Demands for Stolen Mandate

ABUJA/Nigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had been accused of hacking into the Independent National Electoral Commission, by the Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress, which had not however dent the demand of the opposition party for what they called the return of their stolen mandate.

The APC through the petition, signed by Mr. Festus Keyamo, had formally lodged a complaint against the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate for criminally hacking into the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The complaint lodged in a letter today, March 25, 2019, to the Acting Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services, followed the citing of alleged election results contained in the server in the petition filed by Abubakar Atiku and the PDP against the election of President Buhari. Atiku claimed he was the winner of the election and that he got 1.6million more votes than President Buhari.

The complaint signed by Festus Keyamo, the Buhari campaign spokesman, urged the police and the DSS to invite, interrogate and investigate the PDP leaders over their admittance of illegal access to the INEC server.

The letter said the figures being quoted by the PDP were the fake voting figures posted on the server before the postponement of the presidential election on 16 February.

“The only conclusion one can draw from the above is that the PDP had prepared those results which were to be smuggled into the INEC Server. However, the sudden postponement of the election scuttled that evil plan, but it was too late to restrain the release of the fake results”, the letter read.

Surrender our Mandate, PDP

Despite the petition by the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, today,  asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stop what it called unnecessary fabrications and smear campaign following call for the prosecution of PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for allegedly hacking the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The party said President Buhari is overweighed by the burden of illegitimacy, “following overwhelming evidence before the tribunal that he stole the Presidential mandate, hence this lame attempt at blackmailing the tribunal by engaging in clear acts of subjudice.”

In a statement issued by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP argued that “facts and issues touching on the INEC server are already within the public domain and Nigerians are already at home with them.”

The statement read: “By resorting to shadow-boxing outside the tribunal, President Buhari and the APC have shown that they have no defence to present to the court against PDP’s submission that they stole our mandate.

“It is even more appalling that Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and a member of Buhari’s legal team, who should know better, would engage in this act of subjudice designed to distort facts already known to Nigerians that our Presidential Candidate and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, clearly won the February 23 Presidential election.
