ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads) Comrade Reuben Izeze has highlighted the state government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructural renewal in Asaba and various urban and rural centers across the state.
He spoke about the ongoing project’s purpose and the government’s dedication to delivering quality road infrastructure to the residents of the state during an inspection of the reconstruction and expansion of road and drainage at Ibusa Road in Asaba,
Comrade Izeze revealed that the work on Ibusa Road was initiated by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to tackle the issue of flooding and enhance connectivity. He mentioned the expansion of drainage systems and their role in deflooding adjoining streets and roads, emphasizing that this initiative was a continuation of efforts started by the previous administration.
“Governor Oborevwori promised Deltans MORE, and that is what he is doing,” Izeze stated emphatically during the inspection. He praised the contracting firms for their commendable progress on the project and expressed confidence that the Governor’s vision would be realized in due time, benefiting the residents of the area, particularly those who frequently use Ibusa Road.
Comrade Izeze was visibly satisfied with the quality and pace of the work being carried out, assuring the public that the project would be completed within six months. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to compensating property owners for any inconveniences caused during the construction process, making it clear that no property would be affected without proper compensation and the acquisition of appropriate titles.
He also stressed Governor Oborevwori’s empathetic approach, assuring that due process and compensation would be followed in the event of property acquisition. “If it gets to that point where you see us touch anybody’s property, the person has been duly compensated,” he assured.
With the Delta State government’s dedication to improving infrastructure and providing quality roadways for its citizens, the ongoing project on Ibusa Road serves as a testament to their commitment to fulfilling their promises to the people.
