Rev Father Anthony Ojakaminor has described as too early to ascertain if the present administration is making progress or not. Urging that more time should be given to this government before we rush into conclusion.
According to Ojakaminor, “It’s difficult to rush into conclusion with just one year in government, but as a political analyst, with time we will come up with our own judgement.”
Speaking against the backdrop of the Goodluck Jonathan administration, during the official lunch of the book titled: Nigeria: …and the president said; “I don’t give a damn,” in Warri recently.
The Catholic priest appealed to Nigerians, not to give up on the government but to be awake to put the leaders on their toes, so that they can perform.
“They should be hopeful but should also work for it as freedom does not come easily.”
The book which is a review of the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan and if Nigeria under the present administration is on the part to democratization, has earlier been described as a metaphor for the political nonchalance and a motion against political and ethnic division.
Chairman of the occasion, Chief Engr Paul Evwethoma and Rev Father Anthony Ibekwe also described the emergence of the book as timely, calling on the author to do a part two of the book, following the realities on ground now.
Just as the silent and nonchalance of many writers and journalists, against the present political dispensation was also described as worrisome.
