Ndokwa Welcomes Okowa as He Inspects and Commissions Projects

Okowa in UkwuaniThe atmosphere in Ndokwa land was colourful yesterday as the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi led other political leaders in Ndokwa land to welcome His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his entourage as he commissioned and inspected some projects executed by the State Government in the area in continuation of activities marking his one year in office.

The governor who was first received in Umuaja, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state started with the  commissioning of newly constructed and renovated blocks of classrooms in Onyia and Umuaja Primary Schools.

The Governor, despite the present financial crunch, gave thanks to God for the opportunity to deliver projects across the state within his one year in office.

Following almost immediately, the Governor was received in Ogbagu Primary School, Ogbagu-Ogume, Ndokwa West where he commissioned the rehabilitated Primary School.

At the commissioning ceremony, the Governor warned teachers to avoid doing personal businesses during school hours, stating that his administration will not condone such.

“I thank God that we have been able to deliver on these projects within one year,” the Governor said disclosing that his administration has done a lot in the area of rebuilding and renovation of primary schools within one year because, his administration paid counterpart funding to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).

“Twenty five primary schools were chosen to be rebuilt, one in every local government area across the state,” the Governor said, stating the the people of  community were free to make use of the water scheme in the school compound but, such should not be done during school hours, but with understanding with the school authority and the community leadership.

While charging the communities to protect government infrastructure in their areas, the Governor reiterated that his administration would not relent in delivering democratic dividends to the people based on the finances available to the state.

Governor Okowa who was received by a mammoth crowd wherever he went to, also, inspected the level of work at Beneku road and Model Secondary School, Ashaka in Ndokwa East local government area of the state.

Speaking at Ushie, at a reception for the Governor and his team, after the exercise, the Deputy Speaker said that he will continue to support the Governor and work closely with the executive council of Delta State, making frantic effort to ensure that the prosperity and transformation of the Ndokwa land  becomes rapid.

Osanebi thanked the governor for coming to Ndokwa Land, and also thanked the people for giving  the Governor a warm reception.
