ASABA/Nigeria: The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), Delta State commandant, Mrs Sam Ego Ezeagbogho has said that the major alarming crime in the state is pipeline vandalism but stressed that the command over the years has drastically reduced the act to below average.
The Ezeagbogho stated this at the commands headquarters in Asaba during a media parley with excos and members of the indigenous correspondents Chapel (ICC) of the Delta State NUJ Council, adding that the role of the command during the just concluded council polls was a huge success due to the pre-test, test and post-test of strategies implemented and the importance attached to prayers in all its activities “for if God does not watch a city, the watch mam watcheth in vain”.
Speaking further Commandant Ezeagbogho assured members of ICC and NUJ in extension of a robust symbiotic relationship, taking cognizance of the roles and the importance of the press in any society.
She reiterated the importance of sporting activities in the NSCDC, noting that sports are important component of NSCDC not only to keep fit but as ways of nurturing talents.
“Our efforts and success in combating crime and other disturbances in the state is largely because of prayers and synergies with other security agencies.” She added.
