ASABA/Nigeria: In a major push for educational advancement in Delta State, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, has announced a full scholarship scheme for 90 students across the nine local government areas of his senatorial district. The initiative, unveiled during the Delta North APC meeting on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Idumuje-Ugboko, is designed to ease the financial burden on families and empower academically gifted youths.
Senator Nwoko, addressing a gathering of party stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters, declared that the scholarship would cover tuition, accommodation, books, and other academic expenses for a period of four years. “I want our future generation to be equipped with the tools they need to succeed,” Nwoko said. “This scholarship scheme is one of my ways of investing in the potential of Delta North youths and ensuring they have a solid foundation through quality education.”
The scheme will see 10 beneficiaries selected from each of the nine local government areas, with the senator calling for a transparent and merit-based selection process that prioritizes both academic performance and financial need. Nwoko urged party leaders and community heads to ensure fairness in the exercise.
The announcement was met with applause from party members and local leaders, many of whom praised Nwoko’s consistent commitment to youth development and educational empowerment. A party official from Aniocha North described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the senator’s dedication to creating real impact beyond politics.
The scholarship program further cements Senator Nwoko’s growing reputation as a grassroots leader focused on sustainable development, human capital investment, and the upliftment of Delta North’s educational standards.
