Ochonogor Solicits Union’s Collaboration With Govt

Okowa pixThe Political Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Chief Festus Ochonogor has solicited the collaboration of the Isoko Development Union (IDU) with the state government in order to drive the prosperity train.
Ochonor said this would to a great extent; enhance the objectives of the SMART Agenda of the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, especially on meaningful peace building aimed at political stability and social harmony.
While speaking with members of lsoko Development Union (IDU) at the union’s secretariat during his visit with his entourage, the Senior Political Adviser to the governor emphasised on the efforts of the state government to maintain political stability through the complementary contributions of political or social organizations like the Isoko Development Union (IDU), adding that the government can only be encouraged to deliver dividends of democracy in terms of infrastructural development and security when the needed stable environment is provided within the nation.
“To this end, the government has gradually started providing infrastructures in the nooks and crannies of the state, irrespective of the lean resources, just as we know that there are certain things we need to do in lsoko nation like the Ofagbe Technical College, government is trying to make it of post secondary standard so that the desire of bringing skill acquisition can be achieved.
“We have come to congratulate the new leadership of Isoko Development Union (IDU) and to assure you of our continued relationship and support and we would do everything to partner with the union,” Ochonogor said.
Responding, the president-general of the union, Chief Amadhe Iduh noted among his catalogue of so many projects that needed government’s intervention that the people can only identify with the concept of nation building when there is equilibrium in governance, adding that developmental policies geared towards consolidation of democracy are valued when they are effectively implemented.
He, however, called on the state government under the leadership of Dr. lfeanyi Okowa to facilitate the completion of abandoned projects in lsoko nationality including the accreditation of the Oleh campuses and its autonomy, while commending the state government on behalf of the nation for the renovation of the Ofagbe Technical College.
