OSSAI OSSAI: Group Calls on Recall Agitators to Cease Fire …As NTTA Labels MEN as a Faceless, Ignoble Group

By Samuel Jerry

ASABA/Nigeria: The unceasing word between the camp of the representative of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Hon Ossai Nicolas Ossai, and the Ndokwa Think Thank Assembly, NTTA, had attracted the attention of the Niger Delta Equity Forum, NDEF, as it called the agitators to cease fire, and go to the roundtable to discuss whatever that may had necessitated the call.

The group, in a press statement, made available to newsmen in Asaba, Tuesday, November 16, 2020, stated that the online petition which the NTTA is not necessary, as the process of good governance requires collaboration, through means of dialogue, between parties.

The press statement which was signed by the National Coordinator, Comr. Gideon Onyebuchi, stated that its investigation has reviewed that the two parties had not exhausted all the available means of dialogue on how to move the people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency forward in the area of infrastructural development, and the harnessing of the potential human capital and the natural resources of the area.

According to NDEF, the NTTA, has every political rights to agitate for good governance, and better representation of the people of the constituency, from those voted in not only to represent them, but to ensure that they attract development project to the area.

It stated that the recent endsars protests in Nigeria, was a clarion call, and not only the government, but to all Nigerians, especially those voted in to offices as representative of the people. It stated that with the protests which saw the actions of Nigerians, especially the youths towards bad governance in the country, the group should utilize the opportunity to increase their engagement with the various persons in Ndokwa, who is in positions of authourity. Stating that they should see the endsars protests as the beginning of Agenda Setting for their representatives, and it’s when they fail, all the available constitutional options should be followed.

“The NTTA, like any other group, and persons in Nigeria, has the right to check the activities of their representatives in any of the legislative arms, or elected offices in Nigeria. However, there should be dialogue before actions of recall. Processes have to be followed. Processes of dialogue and contact should not be a onetime attempt.’

It stated that it has it on record that the youths under the endsars protests, called on some elected and appointed to come and give their stewardship recently at an open square in Obiaruku, in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta, State. Saying that such action was too crude for those that they had elected to represent them. It says that closeness of that call, and the recall process speaks volume, despite the facts that the Ndokwa Think Thank Assembly, NTTA, is a registered organisation from investigation, it’s expected that they should act above board, and carryout more of advocacy, and engagement with the people of Ndokwa, and those who are representing them in government.

The statement did not leave the media department, and those handlers of Hon Ossai N. Ossai, as it berated the open social media war with the NTTA, saying that that was not necessary, as the best option was to continue the dialogue to explain the actions and efforts in attracting development to the people of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Constituency.

It stated that the handlers quickly went on war part, fighting the statement, instead of first off all, debunking the allegation labeled against Hon Ossai of using money for the execution of constituency projects in the area to empower its political cronies.

“We as a group frowns at the quick response, and attack on the NTTA, on allegation of diversion of constituency funds by Hon Ossai Ossai. This should not had been. The first line of action, and response is to explain to the people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, that the information was wrong, and not to attack.”

“Despite the above misadventure by both parties, we plead that you should cease fire, and come to the table to discuss a way forward for the development of Ndokwa. The endsars protests had afforded us the opportunity to start doing it right, and we should not miss the opportunity.’ It stated.

NTTA Denounce MEN, Calls it Faceless

Meanwhile, the Ndokwa Think Thank Assembly, NTTA, had berated the Movement for the Emancipation of Ndokwa, (MEN), calling the group ignoble, as its fighting a fight against the ideas it claims to represent.

The group in a statement signed by its President, Mr. Ameachi Nwador says it was shocked at the reaction of MEN.

“When you read the release by the amorphous group, Movement for the Emancipation of Ndokwa, (MEN) and their sudden metamorphosis into an organ who could speak the minds of Ndokwa people, a kind of terror seizes you as though you were listening to a tale of sorcery.”

“We don’t know who is behind it but it is it not surprising how those we did not elect to speak on our behalf could travel this ignoble path and perform this remote abomination in electing themselves to fight and eat the conquered, and shut them up perpetually”.

“We would not have dignified their tirade with a response for it is strange and contradictory that an organization would be fighting a social order which it claims to represent. But for the sake of not allowing this mesmerizing delusion to engulf our already subdued people, we chose to educate you briefly”

“That The recall initiated by Ndokwa Think Tank Assembly(NTTA) is in pursuant to section 69 of the 1999 constitution which does not in any way require that an organization or an individual, who is a constituent and dissatisfied with the prevailing order should register with the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) before proceeding therewith.”

“It speaks of how ignorant and degenerate these paid mercenaries could wallow in the inflated ego of their sponsors. The poser is, why are you bothered with whether NTTA is not registered or not? Or did your principal register himself with the CAC before getting our mandate to speak on behalf of Ndokwa/Ukwuani people in the green chamber?

“We are bewildered that some self serving political hallelujah boys with no known address could ever think that an Ukwuani/Ndokwa man would need to be registered to speak the truth to their representatives. Not surprising as this shows in whose interest they serve, and those whose belly is their god. Our candid advice is that they should stop dissipating their energy, and wait and see if we will meet the constitutional requirements to fulfilling this process or not.”

Let us understand that the recall is on the anvils of observable flaws in the representation, but to point at the correlation between the Bills passed by our representative and its effect on the Ndokwa people.”
