ASABA/Nigeria: In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s affirmation of the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Delta State, Ogbuefi Lucky Okuji, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ndokwa West Local Government, has issued a call to action for party members. Emphasizing the importance of remaining vigilant, Okuji urged against complacency in the face of recent triumphs.
“We are happy that God gave us victory at the polls and at the judiciary, but it is painful that those who are challenging us as a party were members of our great party, the PDP at a time,” Okuji remarked during a statement in Asaba. He added, “There is no doubt that Delta is PDP, PDP is Delta State, but we should not rest on our oars; we should not give room for dissenting voices.”
Expressing concern over the encroachment of opposition parties in the state, Okuji underscored the need for unity within the PDP. He urged members to actively reach out to those who had left the party, advocating for a collective effort in the spirit of political inclusivity. “It should be operation bring back every Deltan to the fold; in politics, the more, the merrier,” he declared.
Congratulating Governor Oborevwori and Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme on their electoral victories, Okuji acknowledged the challenges faced during the political process. “Now that they have lost and have come out to congratulate our Governor, we expect them to also return to our party for us to always speak with one voice and collectively develop our state,” he stated.
On behalf of PDP members in Ndokwa West, Okuji extended congratulations and offered prayers for the success of the M.O.R.E. Agenda in advancing Delta State. “We pray that the M.O.R.E. Agenda of advancing Delta State will be delivered to the satisfaction of all Deltans and to the glory of God,” he concluded.
