ASABA/Nigeria: Former Delta State Commissioner, Mr. Omamofe Pirah, has applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful completion of the landmark 20.95km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, which includes 15 bridges and marks the end of a 19-year wait for the Itsekiri nation.
In a statement on Thursday, Pirah described the achievement as “a monumental breakthrough and a long-awaited blessing,” commending the governor for demonstrating exceptional political will, financial prudence, and a firm commitment to inclusive development. He said the delivery of the project had finally turned a decades-old infrastructural aspiration into reality.
“For nearly two decades, our people yearned for this vital connection. Today, that dream has been fulfilled, and the Itsekiri nation has every reason to celebrate,” he said.
Pirah urged the Itsekiri people to rally behind Governor Oborevwori and support his second-term ambition in 2027, stressing that the governor’s achievements in just two years clearly signpost continuity, stability, and deeper dividends of democracy.
The former Commissioner also congratulated immediate past governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as Lead Coordinator, South-South, of the Renewed Hope Initiative. He described the appointment as well-deserved and reflective of Okowa’s proven leadership and enduring commitment to national development.
Pirah expressed confidence that Dr. Okowa would bring his trademark humility, wisdom, and administrative capacity to bear in advancing the goals of the Renewed Hope Initiative for the benefit of the South-South region.
