Sapele: Residents of Mona School road, off shell road Okirighwre Sapele, who petitioned the Assistant Inspector of Police zone 5, Benin city, Delta state police command, Asaba over the alleged dubious and fraudulent practices of few persons in the area for allegedly engaging in illegal collection of money from new landlords for electricity installation have reverted that publication alleging that those persons are innocent of the charges against them after a careful investigation.
In newspapers publication of the vanguard and pointer newspapers respectively, dated vanguard Monday Jan 11 2016 and Pointer Thursday, Jan 14 2016, the petitioners through their lawyer, earlier explained that their clients, landlords and inhabitants of the environs of mona school, off shell road, Okirighwre, Sapele Viz, Benson Efeotor, Mr. Ochuko Okosusu, Mr. Chanai Dennis, Mrs. Aghwana Roseline, Christiana Omagaga, Gabaga Ajayi, Uyi Aigbe Sam William,Arthur Omoregie, Federal Akpotor, Enaikirehie Ediri, Etsitso Bright and many others have suffered untold hardship from the above persons under severe conditions.
The petitioners in a fresh press release signed by Mr. Benson Efeotor, are now appealing to those concerned, Mr. Big Joe, Mrs. Akpomudiare, Mr. Phillip Ikede and Mr. Idjerhe Dickson all of Mona School off shell road, Okirighwre, Sapele that they are not fraudulent and dubious as
they earlier published in a petition letter dated January 5, 2016 fromthe chambers of Barrister J. Ederogun Etchie and co, a Sapele based legal practitioner.
They averred that those concerned are never in the habit of collecting illegal money after a thorough investigation, rather any money collected from ‘would be’ landlords are token fee for developmental purposes which never comes into their pockets as earlier alleged, appealing to the general public to discountenance their earlier publication
The petitioners, added that it is true sometime in 2014, due to epileptic power supply, the occupants and inhabitants of the environs of Mona School were thrown into total darkness which prompted Hon. Joyce Overah a then member representing Sapele, Uvwie and Okpe local
government in the Federal House of Representatives as part of his constituency project, to make available transformer to the occupants and inhabitants of Mona School, off shell road, Okirighwre, Sapele for their use and benefit of all which was complemented by stakeholders and the collection of a token amount of money was made which made the installation and function possible but other landlords were never defrauded as earlier published.
After thorough investigation, the petitioners now realized that Mr. Joseph Akiagbe, Idjerhe Dickson, Phillip Ikede and Mrs Akpomudiare are not fraudulent rather, the money collected is used for the development of the area.
