Students Called To Be Committed To Studies

OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: The newly appointed Head of Department of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, Dr (Mrs) Stella Egbra has said she will work assiduously to ensure that the department move to a greater height.

She made the remarks in a chat with newsmen in her office at Ogwashi-Uku.

Dr Egbra while thanking God for her elevation, she lauded management of the institution for finding her worthy to serve, describing the rector, builder,  Professor Emmanuel Achuenu as a dynamic academician that brought his wealth of knowledge to bear in the development of the institution.

Dr Egbra opined that mass communication is not a tea party, but a serious business, calling on students to take their academic programs seriously to enable them justify the efforts of management and their parents.

She urged students to imbibe the culture of hard work for them to succeed, adding that hard work is the wheel on which success manifest.

She said students should respect constituted authorities of the institution, shun cultism and other social vices that is capable of truncating their future.

Dr Egbra commended the past heads of department for their contributions to the development of the department.
