ASABA/Nigeria: Hon. Victor Ochei, the Olikeze of Onitcha Olona, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, and immediate past Executive Director at NIMASA, has called on Nigerians to remain committed to nation-building as the country celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary.
In his heartfelt Independence Day message, Ochei praised the Nigerian armed forces for their dedication to maintaining the country’s stability and unity despite the prevailing economic difficulties. He expressed optimism that if citizens persevere and collaborate with the government, Nigeria will return to the path of economic recovery, with ongoing reforms and initiatives promoting sustainable development.
Ochei emphasised the importance of collective action, encouraging Nigerians to support the government’s efforts and engage actively in its programmes aimed at national progress.
“Today, we celebrate 64 years of nationhood—an important milestone in our journey as a country. Despite the economic challenges we face, we must remain hopeful and resolute that our efforts and perseverance to make Nigeria better will yield our desired objectives.
“I salute the men and women of the armed forces for their unwavering commitment to keeping Nigeria united. Most importantly, I salute every Nigerian—this Independence is for us and by us. Independent Nigerians continue to work tirelessly for our nation’s growth, striving each day to make Nigeria greater.
“Though today may be tough, we hold fast to the belief that tomorrow will always be better.
“Let’s join hands with the government and actively engage in the various programs and initiatives aimed at improving our lives and our nation. Together, we can build the Nigeria we dream of.
Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day!”
He concluded by reaffirming his belief in the power of unity, stressing that only through collective perseverance and cooperation can Nigerians build the prosperous nation they envision.
