We Will Foster Happiness and Prosperity in Delta State – Onyeme

ASABA/Nigeria: Sir Monday Onyeme, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, expressed confidence that the administration of the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori would prioritize equitable development to ensure the happiness of all Deltans. He made these remarks during a congratulatory visit by Chief Isaac Onyesom and political leaders from Umukwata, Ward 4, Ukwuani Local Government Area, at the Government House in Asaba.

The Deputy Governor emphasized the Governor’s commitment to leaving no community behind in the state’s development master plan. He stressed the importance of unity among the people, stating that the elections were over and it was time for all Deltans to come together as a united and peaceful populace.

“While not everyone voted for the PDP in the election, we are grateful that most Deltans did, and by God’s grace, we emerged victorious,” said Sir Onyeme. “Now, our focus is on delivering good governance to the good people of Delta State. As elected representatives, we serve not only those who voted for us but also those who voted for other parties or did not vote at all.”

He further highlighted the significance of unity, emphasizing that a united people would reap the benefits of democracy and the resulting dividends of development. He expressed hope that such progress would even convince those who did not vote for them in the previous election to support them in the future. Sir Onyeme emphasized the importance of living in unity for the collective well-being of all Deltans.

The Deputy Governor thanked the Umukwata community for their support in voting for the PDP and appreciated their congratulatory visit. He assured them of the administration’s commitment to ensuring the happiness of the people and pledged to allocate development resources equitably across all kingdoms and communities. Sir Onyeme concluded by stating, “We will be happier if all Deltans are happy.”

Chief Onyesom, representing the Umukwata Community Political leaders, congratulated Sir Onyeme on his assumption of office. He acknowledged his historic position as the first Ndokwa man to serve as Deputy Governor of Delta State. Chief Onyesom also highlighted certain infrastructural challenges faced by the community, including the need for electricity, a health center, and the construction of a newly approved secondary school in Owah-Abbi. He appealed to the state government for assistance in addressing these issues.
