2018: Delta Youths Urged to Sustain Peace

ASABA/Nigeria: President-General of Association of Community Youths (ACY) in Delta State, Hon. Ifeanyi Eboigbe has urged youths of the state to continue with their peaceful disposition as such has made the year 2017 to end on positive note.
Hon. Eboigbe in an end of year message in Asaba stated that youths are very important in the society, and since the inauguration of ACY which is the central coordinating committee for youths’ associations in Delta State, issues of disagreement among community youths’ committees have been reduced to the barest minimum.
“Delta State is very peaceful, our youths are better organized and prepared for future challenges and by the grace of God, working with one objective, Delta State will be a model for other states on how to ensure that youths are well behaved and industrious,” he said.
He continued, “as we enter a new year, I wish all the youths in Delta State a successful celebration, they should be careful of their activities and ensure that they comport themselves in orderly manner.”
Hon. Eboigbe commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration for the different youths empowerment programmes delivered through the SMART agenda which has made the youths of the state to be positively engaged.
He said, “we are happy that most of our youths through the instrumentality of the youths empowerment programmes of Governor Okowa’s administration, have become wealth and job creators rather than job seekers; we thank the Governor for creating the enabling environment for the youths to discover their potentials.”
“On resumption of office, Governor Okowa revived technical education and today, we have started seeing the benefits of such initiative because, even if you will pursue your academic career to the university level, the knowledge acquired through the technical schools have already equipped you to be independent which in a way, will reduce the burden on parents,” he stated.
Chief Nwanze Oduah who is the Guidance Counselor for the ACY in charge of Delta North Senatorial District in a chat, observed that Governor Okowa’s youths-friendly approach to governance has made the job of the ACY easy as most of the youths are having reasons to shun societal ills.
While praising the leadership acumen of the President-General of ACY, Hon. Eboigbe, Chief Oduah emphasized that the ACY will record more success in 2018 in ensuring that jobless youths key into the empowerment programmes of the Delta State government, stating, “within the short period of our inauguration, we have achieved a lot through advocacy, there is no problem among youths associations of different communities as was seen in the past, the youths are now working for common purpose and with such, there is peace.”
“ACY will be more active in 2018 for youths who are jobless to harness the different windows provided by Governor Okowa’s SMART agenda to be positively engaged, we will also, encourage well-to-do individuals and corporate organizations to sponsor the training of youths so that in the next few years, every part of Delta State will be bubbling with entrepreneurs because, the greatest security is to keep the people, the youths positively engaged,” Chief Oduah said.
