OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The year 2018 have been described as a new dawn for Nigerians as political and economic base of the country will be reshaped for a better tomorrow and better development policies.
Making this assertion is the Executive Director Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, in his New Year Message to people of Ukwuani and Nigerians in General.
Hon Ochor who made the statement after the Cross-Over Services, which he attended at Winner Church, Umutu, Ukwuani Local Government Area, said the year 2017 was a trying one for all Nigerians, especially with the end of year scarcity of petroleum products, which affected the joy of the Christmas Celebrations, as many were unable to not move without paying heavily.
He however, told Nigerians to cheer up for the situation which was a temporary set back, as it will lead them to a better Nigeria in the Year 2018.
Hon. Ochor in his prayer wishes all the people of Ukwuani well and prayed for more development, prosperity, harmony, peace and Unity in the country.
He however reminded Nigerians that to move ahead in the New Year, they have to be prayerful, and strongly believe in God as he is the author and finisher of all things we believe in.
“We have to be prayerful and strongly believe in God for he is the author and finisher of our faith”.
“2018 is a time to be very close to God, serve him and to receive his blessings”.
The Executive Director used the occasion to also call on the members of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in the state to prepare for the January 6 Local Government Elections, as he tasked them to do everything legally possible to secure victory for the party, as victory at the polls will be the best new year gift for the members of the party in the state.
“While I enjoy everyone to celebrate the New Year with great expectation, I call on the members of our great Party, the PDP, to work hard to ensure victory at the forthcoming Local Government Election. It should be the greatest New Year Gift to give to Deltans.
