ASABA/Nigeria: A call had been made for the total mobilisation of Deltans to ensure victory for the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, candidates in next year’s election.
Making the call in a statement in Asaba over the weekend, a former aspirant to the Ndokwa East State Constituency Seat, Delta State House of Assembly, Engr. Philip Ugbomah, and convener of the “Do the Work” campaign group, stated that the focus of the group is now to ensure the reelection of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and the victory of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next president of the country.
“The focus of the Do the work campaign is now to pursue, and mobilise Deltans for the reelection of our governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the governor of Delta State in 2019, and the election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Engr. Ugbomah noted that with the massive development that the PDP government had achieved for the people of the state, there will be no other better party to lead the state, but the PDP.
“It will be noteworthy for Deltans to think if it’s a system of continuous development in the state, or the one that will promise us change, and lead us more into hardship. The PDP under governor Okowa in the state had changed the signature of development in the state. With number of axial roads constructed, the Asaba water drainage projects, the infrastructural development at different levels and senatorial districts in the state, our great party have facts to campaign in the state, and reason to seek for the continue stay of the governor till 2023.” He said.
“At the federal level, we had seen that the changes promised in 2015, and still been branded by the ruling party for 2019, is nothing but change of pain, hunger and frustration for many Nigerians. We don’t have to continue in that way in 2019, a better candidate, who understands the plight of the people have to be elected. And that person is no other person, but our former vice president, and flag bearer of our party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.”
“We need to move this country forward, and the present government at the centre is doing nothing about the state of decay and abandonment they had caused Nigerians.”
Engr. Ugbomah stressed that to keeping the level of development in the state going, and continues to 2023, for a better life for all Nigerians, PDP faithfuls have no better option than to mobilise for Atiku and Okowa for victory come February 2019.
