OBIARUKU/Nigeria: After months of consultation with various stakeholders in the state, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor has formally declared his intention to represent the people of Ukwuani constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, in 2019.
Declaring his intention to his immediate ward in Umutu, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon Ochor promised the people of inclusive representation, which will attract the dividend of democracy and good governance.
“Send me my people to represent you, I will not fail you. I will be your servant, and we will collectively work to ensure our community get government attentions.” He said.
Hon Ochor pleaded with the people of the ward not to abandon the party, for another, as the party is the only party that will provide development to the community.
“Our great party had done much for us, I appeal to you to continue your support for the party, and for our amiable governor, we need your votes in 2019, and I know you will not disappoint us as a party.”
Speaking further, he pointed out the interest the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has placed on the ward, as he had under his watch, a long abandoned skill acquisition centre in the community was completed, and commissioned, which is an indication that the present government has for the community.
At the declaration, different stakeholders across the local government areas spoke on the ambition of Hon Ochor to represent the constituency, as they gave their backings and nod for him to contest.
Speaking at the event, the former Delta North Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ogbuefi Eric Anigala, said that the ambition of Hon Ochor to represent the people of Ukwuani is overdue, as he had for years tried, but was truncated.
“This is the right time for Hon Ochor Ochor, he had waited for long. His ambition to represent Ukwuani had severally been blocked by interests. But this time. We had chosen him. And the people of Ukwuani will send him in 2019.”
