ASABA/Nigeria: Ahead of the 2019 general elections chairmen of different political parties have endorsed Chief Ndudi Elumelu as their sole candidate to represent the people of Aniocha/Oshimili constituency in the House of Representatives.
Meeting under the aegis of Leagues of Political Party Chairmen In Delta State (LPPCDS) in a statement signed by the Chairman of Nigeria Peoples Congress (NPC) in the state, Comrade Mamuzo Gabriel who is also, Chairman of LPPCDS in Delta State stated, “we the leagues of political party chairmen in Delta State on behalf of our members and teaming supporters in Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency are calling on Hon. Ndudi Elumelu to re-contest for the position of House of Representatives for adequate representation, service delivery and effective leadership in his constituency.”
“Hon. Elumelu contributions as House of Reps member in his first tenure brought about speedy development of the constituency and impacted greatly to the development of our dear state,” they stated, adding, “during his first tenure, Hon. Elumelu moved more than 10 motions, sponsored more six bills and attracted a lot of developmental projects to his constituency.”
They continued, “some of the motions he moved include motion to construct pedestrian bridges at busy junctions along Benin/Onitsha expressway at Onicha-Ugbo, Issele-Uku, Issele-Azagba, Summit Junction and Ibusa Junction, urgent need for the Federal Government to send immediate aids and relief materials to all the flood-ravaged areas of Anwai, Ugbolu, Asaba, Elenchele, Okwe, Oko-Anala, Oko-Amakom, Oko-Ogbele and Ewulu communities in Oshimili South and Aniocha South local government areas of the state; the award of contract for the construction of Ohordu/Ugbodu/Onicha-Uku/Issele-Uku road.”
“It is on record that some of the bills Hon. Elumelu sponsored include a bill for an act to provide a framework for the regulation, development and management of national health system and set standards for rendering services in the federation, a bill to provide for the registration and regulation of lobbyist in Nigeria and for other matters connected therewith, the Independent Police Complaints Commission bill, and several others,” the chairmen said, emphasizing, “Hon. Elumelu reccommended over 100 candidates for employment into various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, granted financial assistance to organisations and individuals to boost their businesses and personally employed more than twenty persons to work in his constituency office.”
They stated that they endorsed Hon. Elumelu as their candidate because, “he is a true leader that can restore sanity in the society, he is a good listener who has been tested, he is reliable and we trust him, he is the only alternative to salvage Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency who is ready to serve selflessly and in the 2019 general elections, we will work for him not because he belongs to party A or B, we are a group of people who always support good leadership and a man who will stand fearlessly to represent his people.”
“We cannot forget in haste the fact that he attracted several projects to the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, such as solar powered street lights at Okpanam, Akwukwu-Igbo, Atuma, Ebu, Ibusa, Ugbolu, Asaba, Cable Point, Oko-Ogbele, Oko-Amakom, ensured the provision of transformers, bore holes in different communities while town halls were also constructed in some communities; Hon. Elumelu cannot fail the people and Nigerians are also calling on us to provide our first eleven, asking for Hon. Elumelu to be in the House of Representatives to give a new face to democracy in the country.”
