ASABA/Nigeria: Stakeholders and Aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Aniocha North Local Government Area, had after an extra ordinary meeting agreed to work collectively for parties victory in the 2023 General Election.
The meeting which was held at the home of the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Okowa, Prof Sylvester Monye, took decisive decisions to move away from their usual politics of enemity, accusations of rigging and personal goals, especially after primaries decided to set outside their personal ego to ensure victory for the party and to shore up votes in favour of the party during the elections.
The stakeholders in a release signed by all the leaders and major stakeholders of the party, which also included 8 of the aspirants to the Delta State House of Assembly, made available to www.ndokwareporters.com, also agreed that the local government PDP will not endorse any Governorship Aspirants, until the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa directs the Local Government Party Leadership and Stakeholders on the way to go.
The meeting also agreed not to accept any consensus candidate, under any guise, or accept any form of manipulation geared towards rigging.
It also agreed that all aspirants who had purchased nomination and expression of interest forms will be entitled to participate in the primaries, and the primaries will be free and fair.
They further emphasized that the leadership and leaders of the party in the area should continue to work and hold on to the policies of the party and ensure all aspirants work and support whoever emerges the winner from the primaries as the party’s candidate for the 2023 House of Assembly Election.
The communique was endorsed by 20 of the leaders of the party in the area, and 8 of the aspirants to the State House of Assembly.
