OTU-JEREMI/Nigeria: The Campaign Director of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon had tasked the leaders of the party to make use of the efforts they employed in mobilising members and supporters to the campaign rallies to secure victory for the party on February 25, and March 11, 2023.
Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon made the remark when the campaign train stopped at Ughelli South and Ethiope West Local Government Areas, today Thursday, January 5, 2023.
While thanking the party leaders in the two Local Government Areas for their assurance of their readiness for victory at the polls, said that the assurance will be very meaningful if the same efforts will be used to mobilise voters to vote for the PDP.
He called on party members in the Local Government Areas not to take anything for granted, as the focus is to secure every vote for the PDP.
“I must have to thank you for your massive mobilisations for these rallies, it shows we have the energy to drive for success at the polls come February and March 2023. I, therefore, urge you, to employ the same zeal, energy, and means to mobilise voters across the board to vote for our party, the PDP.”
“In other words, I am very impressed with what I am seeing here today. We have to convert this crowd into votes for the PDP at the polls.”
The former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly told the cheering crowd of the readiness of the party to continue to serve the people of the State and provide their necessary needs through good governance.
“You know our great party is a party that cares, it listens to the demands of the people. We will continue to do so, through our various policies aimed at instituting better lives for our people.”
Leaders that spoke during the visits were Olorogun John Oguma, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Engr. Ighomena and others.
At Ughelli South, one of the Leaders, Olorogun John Oguma assured the party, of its readiness to retain dominance of the LGA., with their continuous voters’ education and mobilization to vote for the party. He insisted that the Local Government had always been PDP, and its still PDP and they will not fail the trust imposed on them to deliver.”
I welcome your excellency and the party leadership to Ughelli South Local Government Area. We have continued to dominate this Ughelli South with our policies and through the effective education of our members. We are ready for the election this year, and we are very ready to deliver all our candidates.”
On his part, Engr Ighomena stated that the structure of the party erected in 1999, which made them always win elections in Ethiope West is still very much intact, and based on that existing structure, they are ready to deliver the party candidates at the polls.
“I have to tell you, that our existing structure, established since 1999, that made us win elections again and again is still intact. The Federal or State Wards of the party are always victorious in every election.”
“As we are standing here today, standing on everything we had erected over the years, I can tell you we will repeat it again. It will happen again in February and come March 11, 2023, we win all the elections and we will continue to remain in Asaba.” He assured.
The leaders assured the party that the crowds present at the rallies are all PDP faithful, and when the elections come, they will exhibit all they know best, and that is voting for the PDP.
They assured the party not to have any fear as they are working to sustain the victory they used to have.
On his part, the Chairman of the party in the State, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, who was so excited about the mobilisations said they did not come to campaign, but to celebrate the victory of the party at the polls.
The party during the rally received another set of decampees from the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Barr. Martins Umukoro, as Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President, and Governorship Candidate of the party, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who assured the party that they are out to work for victory of PDP at the next elections.
He pledge to bring his experiences and that of his followers to bear on the victory of the party.
