ASABA/Nigeria: One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Urhobo born 2023 Delta State Governorship Aspirant, Chief Abel Esievo has disassociated himself from the PDP Delta Central Committee on selection of Urhobo Governorship aspirants in 2023 otherwise known as DC-23.
He made this known in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent in exclusive media chat at public function in Ughelli last week end while reacting to the pruning down of numbers of Urhobo governorship aspirants by DC-23.
He vehemently stated that he was not among those screened out by the DC-23 so far.
“It is not possible. How can you screen a person that has discredit you; a person that was not present during the so-called screening? He asked.
You cannot screen a person in absentia. The said screening is nullity “he further stated.
The retired Auditor General of Delta State, therefore declared that he was very much in the contest and urged his supporters to keep faith, saying he declared that he was the candidate to beat in the contest.
Esievo stated that he had paid his dues in Delta State and that as a retired auditor general of Delta State he knew the nooks and crannies of the state, insisted that he was the most qualified and experienced for the Delta State number one political seat in 20-23.
“The so-called big names were afraid when they saw our teaming supporters at the PDP mega rally in Asaba. They wanted to stop us from entering the venue of the rally, ” he added.
The Agbon Kingdom born politician assured that if given the mandate to govern Delta State in 2023, he would industrialize the state and empowered Deltans.
Esievo also promised that he would interface with owners of moribund companies in the private sector to resuscitate such companies to provide employment to Deltans.
He scored Governor Ifeanyi Okowa high in achievements so far.
He said that the units (communities) elections would be held on 17th and 18th of February while the central offices election would be on 20th February, 2022.
According to him, “the expectation from the Committee members is 99 percent which made us to choose you on the task ahead because you are men of unquestionable characters in the kingdom as such, transparency and accountability must be attained by the Committee members”
The Patron appreciated the President General of Ozoro kingdom, Hon. Miller Akpoili for his efforts on making sure that Ozoro people remain one across the country.
While advising the Youths on the need for a peaceful, free and fair election ahead, he said election was not do or die affair and advised the aspirants to apply sense of sportsmanship.
“In the upcoming election, there would be no godfatherism and I will ensure everyone will be giving fair playing ground” he said.
On their own part, Hon. David Onajega – patron, Oghenerobo Asebiluo – INYA Secretary General, Lawrence Eleco – Secretary and Omas Akpoyibo – SA to Governor, Delta State, all admonished the youths to shun hooliganism during and after the elections.
