EFFURUN/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Akporokiamo Ekedayen, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uvwie Local Government Area to strengthen unity within the party and begin early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ekedayen made the call while hosting the Chairman of the APC in Uvwie Local Government Area, Sylvester Dickson Oghenevwede, alongside members of the party’s executive committee and other stakeholders during a meeting aimed at strengthening party cohesion and grassroots engagement.
Speaking during the meeting, the commissioner emphasised the importance of unity, cooperation and collective commitment among party leaders, stressing that only a united political structure could effectively mobilise the electorate and secure victory in future elections.
He urged the leadership of the party in Uvwie to put aside personal differences and focus on strengthening the party’s structure across the wards and communities in the local government area.
Ekedayen particularly charged party stakeholders to work assiduously toward delivering at least 95 percent of the votes in the area for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Asiwaju, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, APC Chairman in Uvwie, Sylvester Dickson Oghenevwede, thanked the commissioner for the warm reception and assured that the leadership and members of the party in the area would intensify efforts to promote unity, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure the party records overwhelming success in future electoral contests.
