The Nwa Ada Utagba-Uno, Miss Rosemary Dumebi Ufeli has emerged the winner of the Nwa Ada Ukwuani beauty pageant, 2013 finals recently held in Obiaruku, headquarter of Ukwuani Local Government Area. The beauty pageant which was the brain child of Miss Valeen Awuli Oseh, Organiser/Founder of Tisova Relief Concepts, said during the Grand Finale of the inaugural beauty pageant that Tisova Concepts is an umbrella outfit that specialises in organising Culturally-based pageants with a view to promoting and preserving the cultural and traditional values of the Ukwuani people and those of the Nigerian Nation in general.

The beauty pageant programme which was started with auditioning of the members earlier in the year also included a one week in house camping in Obiaruku by the participants who were drawn from the three LGA’s of Ndokwa Nation. During the one week of staying together, activities that exposed them to the culture and tradition of the people of Ukwuani were held. Visit to some important places was carried out. And before the final competition, some members were evicted from the show. They also received some important Nollywood Actors.

The occasion was a delight to be watched as different performers performed to the delight of the audience. Some illustrious sons and daughters of Ndokwa where at the event. They include, Chief and Mrs Okenmor Tillije, Deacon Monday Ossai, PDP Chairman Ukwuani LGA, the Secretary to Ukwuani LGA Mr Solomon Egunum, and other important personalities.Miss Utagba Unor the crowned winner

The contest which at the beginning was involving 11 daughters of Ndokwa extraction, had 9 at the finals. They include Miss Rosemary Dumebi Ufeli (Utagba-Uno), Arabella Ogechukwukanma Orgi (Umutu), Sharon Nwabuaku Achi (Umuaja), Precious Ishioma Adah (Abbi), Mercy Ifeluwa Ikogwe (Akoku), Precious Oluchi Ejidike (Abala), Favour Ndidi Oliseyenum (Obiaruku), Blessing Chigozie Ugbome (Okpai) and Edna Chukwukuni Elimani (Amai).

Chief Okenmor Tillije, who was the Chairman of the occasion in an interview with our reporter, promises to be part of the project as it is not only a means to promote the culture and tradition of the people of Ukwuani, but looking at the young lady who braced all odd to initiate such event she need to be supported. Also speaking, the Secretary to Ukwuani Local Government Council, Mr Solomon Ebinum praised the initiator and said that such events will help to reduce social vices in Ndokwa communities and Nigeria in general.

In an interview shortly after her crowning, the winner says she feel happy, glad and overwhelmed. She asked her fellow contestants to see it as a contest and a winner must emerge, and they should not allow their dream to die. I have a dream to be involved in beauty pageant and this is a stepping stone to that, the winner, a first year student of accounting, Delta State University Abraka concluded.
