Recovered Arms
On the 29th April 2014,operatives of Delta police command special Anti-Robbery squad(SARS)Asaba received information that hoodlums who have been terrorizing motorists at Iselle-Asagba axis,along Asaba/Benin express way were sighted in the forest linking Iselle-Asagba/Ibusa and Ogwashi-uku.
Sequel to the information,SARS patrol team were swiftly mobilized to comb the said forest,on sighting the policemen,the Fulani herdsmen opened fire on the patrol team.The police teams immediately engaged returned fire and fatally wounded three of the miscreants while one escaped with bullet wounds.
However,items recovered from them includes,one AK.47,Two AK.47 live ammunition,one locally made single barrel gun,one dagger,one cutlass,six different handsets and assorted female bags.
The police public relations officer,DSP.C.KALU opined that operatives are still combing the forest with a view to arrest the fleeing suspects,adding that the command wishes to warn all criminal minded Fulani herdsmen and other criminal to either have a change of heart or relocate from the state as the command will not spare any effort in bringing criminals to justice.
