According to the managing director of the company, Mr. Emmanuel Konyebagu, one of the cardinal points of managing relationship was how to disseminate information, not to give room to rumour that will slow down relationship between the company and the communities, the organization of an interactive session became necessary where not only the company and communities will be participants but also other stakeholders.DSC_0282 Ogbeuzu/Adonishaka Community Reps

The MD reflected that before this session there was an initial adhoc platform for discussion, but was not maintained, though it was a useful session.

Mr. Konyabagu gave hints that the interactive forum between the company and the host communities will be twice annually, as it will be a peace building and sustaining platform that will remove rumour, and relationship better understood.DSC_0283

Stressing on the need to sustain good relationship and peace from the interaction, the MD of the company, described the relationship between the company and host communities as that of a family, and such need to meet regularity, to know if there were issues to resolve, and what are the issues, as the relationship had gone beyond the company exploiting the oil, and “no longer economic group but a social group”.
