The MD PPL, Mr Emmanuel Konyebagu receiving Documents from MrAweke Avwenaghare.
The Delta State government has said that they have not abandoned the people of Ndokwa in terms of providing infrastructure in the area.
Director, Local Content in Ministry of Oil and Gas in Delta State, Mr Aweke Avwenaghare.
stated this during an interactive session between operators of the Egboma Oil field, Platform Petroleum Limited and their host communities. The interactive session took place at Delta Palace Hotel, Obinomba, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
Reacting to accusations from the host communities that the state government has no physical presence in Ndokwa land in terms of provision of Infrastructure, the Director said it was not true as the work of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) was part of the state’s developmental project in the area.
According to the Director part of the 13% derivation of the state revenue from Oil was what DESOPADEC used for the development of Ndokwa, adding that activities of the commission in the area attests to the fact that the state government had not abandoned the area.
Also speaking on the corporate issue between PPL and Agip as a result of the crude Oil loss, the Director disclosed that a new pipeline to evacuate products to Brass Terminal will soon be ready as the construction company Oilserve was already working.
